Dissecting the Main Ingredient in Goji Juice

AUTHOR: Cat Pyne

Ingredient In Goji Juice

The ingredient in goji juice is a great determinant of the genuineness of the goji juice. The single most important ingredient of the goji juice is, of course, the goji berry.

The quality of the goji berry plays a major role in how much of the nutrients gets into the juice. The quality of the goji berry, in turn, depends largely on the environment where the goji plant grows. Although the goji plant can pretty much withstand any climate or type of soil, any change in soil or climate can also cause changes in the nutritional contents of the fruit; hence, the nutrients that go into the juice.

The Nutritional Value of the Ingredient in Goji Juice

Goji berries originally came from the Himalayas. Due to the sensitivity of handling goji berries, other ways of transporting, packaging and consuming them had to be implemented. One of this is the goji juice whose composition was first standardized by Earl Mindell, making the juice marketable. The juice was made of goji berries obtained from the Himalayas, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.

The goji juice is completely natural. It is taken without sugar or artificial sweeteners. However, you can be assured that it tastes good. Some safe freshness preservatives may be used so the goji juice does not spoil. Flavor may also be added by mixing in other fruit juices.

Below are some of the nutritional contents of the goji juice.

  • Polysaccharides (LBP 1, LBP 2, LBP 3 and LBP 4)
  • 19 amino acids
  • 21 trace minerals
  • Germanium (very rare in other fruits)
  • Carotenoid (Goji berries are the richest source of this nutrient)
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin B complex (niacin/ nicotinic acid, thiamin, niacinamide/ nicotinamide, biotin, riboflavin, pantoothenic acid, folic acid, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12)

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Cyperone, sitosterol, physalin, solavetivone and betaine
  • Essential fatty acids

It is best for the goji juice to be consumed within 30 days. It should also be stored in the refrigerator.

Drinking goji juice as a food supplement should start with an ounce daily, although you can drink as much as you like. Drinking goji juice does not have side effects. It is recommended, however, to drink four ounces of goji juice a day for optimum health. Goji juice can also be drunk by children.

The effects that goji juice brings can be felt within a month. However, this varies for each person, as this would depend on the individual body makeup and nutritional needs.

Below are some of the benefits that result from drinking goji juice.

  • It improves the metabolic and anabolic system.
